Mike Stockman from GFitness“Since working with the residents at Somerforde, we have progressed and advanced as a group, developing exercises and one another not just individually but collectively. As an instructor I look forward to coming into this group as they work hard and at the same time make conversation about their week.” Mike Stockman/GFITNESS

Andy and Sue Sining at Somerforde“We would like to say that we always enjoy singing at Somerforde, the residents always seem to enjoy it, foot-tapping, hand clapping and singing along. It is always a pleasure to come and sing every month, and we’ll keep coming as long as we can, all our love” Andy and Sue xxx

Wendy Jayne - Somerforde entertainer“I’m a Welsh Care Home singer and have been entertaining seniors for over 3 years. Over the last 3 years, I’ve been enjoying my visits to Somerforde, the staff & residents along with visitors are always friendly and welcoming. I sing a variety of songs using backing tracks to allow for all tastes. I like to interact one to one with the residents through photos and friendly chats.” Wendy Jayne

Tai Chi with Helan and Vincent“We LOVE coming to Somerforde to practice Tai-Chi with the residents for improving their energy levels, mobility and sense of well being. Every class we get to know each person better and grow a unique connection with each resident. The exercises are chair-based and it’s never too late to learn Tai-Chi. Our oldest student is 102 years old and enjoys practising the gentle, soft movements that we present in a fun and creative way. We combine the classes by making music and have a playful light approach to practising the exercises. Tai-Chi has many health benefits like improving circulation, improving mobility, making people feel happier and more relaxed. The class is open for everyone, any level of mobility is welcome as we focus a lot on personal attention. Every class is tailored to the needs of the participants and this makes each class unique as it is depending on the needs of the people. We look forward to meeting you in one of the sessions.” – Helen & Vincent, Certified Rainbow Tai-Chi-Chi-Kung instructors
